The Kindergarten children enjoyed pretending to be nurses for the morning as they got to use a stethoscope to listen to each other's hearts and also helped nurse Michelle to bandage each others' arms and feet.
Inspired by the visit from Michelle, the kindergarten children, with the help of the new kindergarten teacher, Kylie Orton, set up their own hospital within the room and spent time playing together in the new hospital area and talking about where their parents worked.
Demonstrating ELTHAM College Kids' philosophy to support the development of children's interests and experiences by encouraging them to build on them, Kylie Orton, the Four Year Old qualified kindergarten teacher, explains: "The idea to create the hospital was initiated by the children playing doctors together by using a range of matertials as pretend bandages and Benjamin telling the children his mummy works at a hospital."
